OUR STORY

Built by someone who
lived the problem.

CARA wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built because of what happens when families don't get answers, and the systems meant to help them fall short.

"I watched a single facility lose 50 patients during COVID while their families were kept in the dark. 50 too many mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends. That experience changed everything about how I think about accountability in long-term care. That’s why I built CARA.”

The grievance process in long-term care is supposed to be a safety net - a way for families to raise concerns and know they'll be heard. But in practice, too many facilities are tracking complaints on spreadsheets, losing them in email threads, or burying them in EHR systems that weren't designed for this work.

The result isn't malicious. It's a systems problem. Staff are overwhelmed, documentation is inconsistent, and when surveyors arrive, facilities scramble to prove they followed a process they were never properly equipped to follow.

CARA is the tool that should have existed all along. Simple enough that any staff member can use it from day one, and robust enough that administrators always know exactly where every complaint stands.

Why CARA exists.
